As we dive into 2020 many new and exciting design trends are emerging. Last year we saw trends including biophilia, pops of colour, wallpaper and over-sized elements. What could be in store for this year? Let’s take a look at all the fun new trends anticipated for 2020!
1. Hand-made accessories
In 2020 we will see more of an appreciation for hand-made décor, raw materials, and artisan styles. We will see more people spending a little more to get unique décor instead of opting for quick-buys. These artisan styles usually are more quality and textured which will be used to draw in interest in a space.
2. Bold Trim
Although bold statements were definitely a 2019 trend it is here to stay in 2020 and is even being taken to the next level! Designers are utilizing wainscoting, trim and ornamental details throughout the home. You will often see these elements painted in bold colour chromatics.
3. Dark painted doors
White doors have been in pretty much forever until now! In 2020 we expect to see major trends with darker painted doors used as accents throughout the home. Painting a door adds character and personality to a space – often seen painted black we expect to see other dark colours make an appearance too!
4. Multicolored marble
Say goodbye to neutral toned marbles such as Carrara marble and say hello to RICH, crazy and colourful marble textures. Designers are opting for strong veining and colourful marbles and using them as focal points throughout the home. Commonly seen in bathrooms and kitchen backsplashes. We love this trend because there are so many unique and beautiful marbles out there – its interesting to see new palettes and how they shape overall aesthetics.
5. Earthy Tones and Warm Woods
Get ready for the raw, natural and earthy environments in 2020. Tones like taupe, greens, warm woods, beige and clay textures are transforming design trends as these interiors tend to be more laid-back and “zen”. You will Often see this trend decorated with beautiful natural pampas and soft grass accessories.
